Sharing Spiritual Journeys

Each Friend’s spiritual journey to Quakerism is unique. Some are birthright Quakers, born into and raised within the community of the Meeting. Others explore many different spiritual paths and traditions before finding their home among the fellowship of Quakers. One of the great strengths of the Quaker tradition is the ability to accommodate and integrate a wide variety of spiritual paths and understandings of the divine.

Since 2021, Sandy Spring’s Ministry & Counsel Committee has asked a diverse group of Friends to share their stories of arriving at the Meeting. Each story is followed by a question and answer period, during which other Friends can share their own faith experiences, ask for clarification, or inquire more deeply into an aspect of the Friend’s story.

Sharing Spiritual Journeys sessions take place each second Sunday (September-October) from 10:15-10:50 am in-person in room 204 of the Community House or on Zoom. CLICK HERE for the link.

This season, Friends Steve Berry, Sam Garman, and Ron Lord will be sharing their journeys with us. All are invited to join, especially if you’re new to Quaker worship!
