Friends Peace Teams

Join us on Tuesday, May 2 as we welcome Olha Lychko-Parubocha and Chris Hunter of Friends Peace Teams Europe! Friends Peace Teams works with children, parents, teachers, and communities recovering from war, colonization, and violence, and supports other justice and peace workers around the world. These Power of Goodness and Alternatives to Violence Project facilitators walk the talk!

Olha Lychko-Parubocha is a Ukrainian psychologist and counselor who lives in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv and works with people displaced from their homes because of the war, helping them with trauma resilience and recovery, coping with their losses, and finding a way forward in their lives.

Chris Hunter, from the U.K., provides Creating Cultures of Peace trainings, which provide a welcome alternative worldview for young people in Chechnya. He has held trainings in the neighboring country of Georgia for young people from Chechnya and two other republics of the North Caucasus (Ingushetia and Dagestan) and from Georgia and Ukraine. He has also initiated Power of Goodness and gender quality programs in the North Caucasus, which continue to reach out to thousands of young people there.

Olha and Chris’ conversation will be available in-person in Community House room 204 and online via Zoom at 7:30 PM. To join by Zoom, CLICK HERE. For those coming from afar, there will be a simple meal before the discussion. Contact Janet Moles at janetneva@gmail.com.
