What Comes Next for Palestinians & Israelis?
On Saturday, January 20 at 7:30pm in the Sandy Spring Friends Meeting Lyceum (17801 Meeting House Road), the Peace Committee invites you to join us for a powerful conversation with four local activists with a wealth of experience advocating for peace in the Middle East. As call, pray, and await for an end to the current violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, our guests will begin to answer the question, “What comes next for Palestinians and Israelis?”
Light refreshments and coffee will be served starting at 7pm.
Our speakers include:
Philip Farah, a Palestinian-American Christian born and raised in Jerusalem until age 27, founding member of Washington Interfaith Alliance for Middle East Peace, and co-founder of Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace;
Laila El-Haddad, a Palestinian-American Muslim from Gaza, journalist for Al Jazeera in Gaza from 2003-2007, and author of Gaza Mom: Palestine, Politics, Parenting, and Everything In Between;
Shelley Cohen Fudge, founder and Leadership Steering Committee Member of Jewish Voice for Peace DC Metro and former WIAMEP Board Member;
and Steve Chase, a member of Friends Meeting of Washington and the Quaker Palestine Israel Network, and author of the Pendle Hill pamphlet Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions? A Quaker Zionist Rethinks Palestinian Rights.
